Luke Days 2018!

The Luke Air Force Base put on Luke Days on March 17th and 18th this year. The event is free and open to the public, and it marked Luke’s 77th year of operation since 1941. In 2018, the show was headlined by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels for the first time since 1992. Among the other displays were the F-35 Lightning II and the F-16 Fighting Falcon.

Barrett Jackson 2018!

DP Air Corporation hosted over 30 clients this year at Barrett Jackson 2018. Established in 1971 and headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, Barrett-Jackson, “The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions”, did not disappoint the 500 thousand plus attendees. It was fun and time well spent seeing the most sought-after and unique automobiles while networking with our clients and employees. DP Air dedicated a day to the Armed Forces and hosted over 25 airmen at the event. While the auction was filled with many authentic automobile auctions, the special guest appearance from former President George W. Bush was a definite highlight.

Adopt A Family 2017

On December 8th, the Corporate team dropped off their gifts for Adopt-A-Family through Team Jaydie with the Phoenix Children’s Hospital! It was incredible to see the overwhelming amounts of gifts for the families and the large number of volunteers helping to wrap and get everything ready for each family!

2017 Reno Air Races

The 2017 Reno Air Races were once again a huge customer hit, with over twenty different customers being represented! Each day was filled with air racing, mingling with peers, and even getting in a few games of corn hole. CEO Arnie Evdokimo ruled the Go Kart track once again, and left in his wake bruised legs, arms, and egos. Several customers got to take in a race from the home pylon and all were in agreement that it was an unbelievable vantage point to watch the race! The weather was perfect and our new venue gave past and current attendees a new view of the races. It was a successful event and all those who attended had a blast!

Light the Night Walk 2017 – Supporting Cancer Research

This year, DP Air selected the Light the Night Walk as our charity event! Light the Night is a walk put on by the Leukemia and Lymphoma society to raise money all over the country to help fund blood cancer research. LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancers. The LLS mission: cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life for patients and their families. Each branch of DP Air participated in a walk in their area, and the inter-company competition was fierce! Overall, DP Air as a national team raised over $11,000 this year for cancer research.

Annual Swing for Jim 2017

The Jim Smith Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that was created to continue the legacy of giving back and to honor the memory of Jim Smith. The foundation will benefit charitable organizations whose programs and activities focus on helping children and families maximize their potential, including educational scholarships in and around the Phoenix area. The annual “Swing for Jim” event was held at Top Golf in April of 2017, where three outstanding members of DP Air displayed our support. Erin Rehling, Jennifer Harler COO, and Kristi O’Connor CFO.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation

Every year, the Las Vegas Branch supports Leslie Shurmur, a Portfolio Manager for the Thomas and Mack Company, in her annual quest to meet or exceed a financial goal to support the Candlelighter’s Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada. This year, Leslie switched gears and motivated the entire Thomas and Mack team to participate in the annual St. Baldrick’s event, also designed to fight childhood cancer. The branch is privileged in having the opportunity to support a great group of people and be a helping hand in the everyday fight against childhood cancer.

Community projects

Hats off to the San Francisco Branch for their Holiday food drive!  It seems that time got away from the rest of us this year and we applaud the branch for taking the time to make a difference.

Remember that the gift of giving can be made at any time of the year. In fact many charities prefer these types of drives during times outside of the Holidays.  You can always check out volunteer opportunities in your area to see where you can make a difference.

Critter Collection

The entire DP Air family also got together to collect stuffed animals for donation to local Fire Departments who keep stuffed animals in their vehicles for use with children who have been traumatized. This drive was a great success with zoos full of critters collected and donated. Some were taken directly to the local Fire Department while some were taken to the City’s resource center for distribution to multiple Fire Departments in the city. The San Francisco Branch was even able to help out two different organizations by delivering half their collection to Good News Bears and the other half to their local Fire Station. Congratulations to all!

Data Center Visit

In June, several employees had the opportunity to visit a state of the art data center in Colorado Springs that CEO Arnie Evdokimo designed and oversaw the construction of. It was an opportunity for everyone to see a Tier III live data center in an A/B configuration. The site was impressive, immaculate, and also afforded everyone the opportunity to observe the generator/utility paralleling gear in action. We saw 2.5MW generators, six (6) 750 kVA UPS’s, the latest and greatest free cooling DA125 CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioning) units. The condenser farm was impressive and the views of Pikes Peak from the roof were awesome! We appreciated the customer opening up his data center to us and providing us with a first rate tour.

Swing for Jim

CEO Arnie Evdokimo and COO Jennifer Harler attended the Jim Smith Foundation event at Top Golf in Scottsdale, AZ on April 14th. Jim Smith was a long-time customer and friend who passed away in January of 2012. In memory of Jim, his wife Karen started this foundation which strives to benefit small grass roots charitable organizations whose programs and activities focus on helping children and families. The venue moved from bowling to golf this year and everyone got the opportunity to try their hand at golfing while helping raise money for a great cause!

2014 – 2015

Throughout the first quarter of 2015 DP Air donated to a number of causes including the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), the world’s leading nonprofit health agency dedicated to finding treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neuromuscular diseases;

The American Legion whose success depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. The organization belongs to the people it serves and the communities in which it thrives;

Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, a parent-run non-profit organized support network to educate, support, serve and advocate for families of children with cancer, bereaved families, survivors of childhood cancer, and the professionals that care for them; and the National Children’s Cancer Society which serves as a financial, emotional, and educational resource for families that can’t make ends meet when their child is diagnosed with cancer.

DP Air is proud to give back to our communities and to support our customers in their charitable pursuits.
