This year, DP Air Corporation committed to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by participating in their annual Light the Night walk event. LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancers. The LLS mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
The Light the Night event brings approximately one million people together across 150 different evening walks throughout the US and Canada. All six DP Air branch locations participated in the effort and raised a total of $11,915.00!
It was incredible to see how many people participated in each of the walks. Supporters, survivors, and those that have lost someone to cancer were provided with different colored lanterns to bring light to the darkness of cancer. One of the most impactful moments before the walk began was when all lanterns were turned off and the survivors were called to the center circle in front of the stage and turned their lanterns on. Their white lanterns were soon surrounded by the rest of the attendees to highlight the support from the community. The event also included food trucks, live music, people in costume, plenty of adorable dogs, and a wide variety of entertainment.
