Universal Monitor
The Universal Monitor is a microprocessor with multi-sensing, remote monitoring and remote control capabilities. Its advanced technology provides high-availability monitoring around the clock. The Universal Monitor can operate as an independent, stand-alone controller or in conjunction with Liebert's Site Scan Web Enterprise Monitoring System. The enclosure of the Universal Monitor makes it suited for various applications in both new construction and retrofit jobs. The Universal Monitor can be mounted on a wall's surface or recessed within a wall. The keypad display on the face of the panel is a standard part of the Universal Monitor. The display, the gateway to all configuration and monitoring is password-protected. The Universal Monitor has a standard, on-board modem for remote monitoring via a telephone line. The modem is pre-configured to work with the panel, eliminating configuration and setup requirements.
The Universal Monitor I/O Expansion Module option provides 16 additional digital inputs and eight additional digital outputs to extend the monitoring capabilities of the Universal Monitor. With this option installed a total of 24 digital inputs, 16 digital outputs and 4 analog inputs are available. The I/O expansion module has light emitting diodes (LEDs) to display status of monitored output devices, communication port for connection to the Universal Monitor and power connections.

TW420 & THW420 Sensors
The TW420 and THW420 sensors provide temperature and humidity inputs to the Universal Monitor. Each sensor displays the logos of Emerson Network Power and Liebert. Both the TW420 and THW420 provide a universal 4-20mA signal making each applicable to any monitoring device that accepts a 4-20mA signal. The TW420 is a remote temperature sensor that mounts on the wall and provides a 4-20mA signal. The range of the sensor is 45°F to 96°F (7°C to 35°C).
The THW420 is a remote combination temperature and humidity sensor that mounts on the wall and provides two 4-20mA signals. The range of the sensor is 45°F to 96°F (7°C to 35°C) and 0 to 100%RH.
Ideal Applications
- Computer Rooms
- Process control areas
- Telecom switch rooms
- Remote communications shelters
- Communications closets

Controllers AC4 & AC8
The Liebert Controllers are ideal for coordinated control of systems with redundant equipment, such as multiple environmental units or pumps. When the controller detects an alarm in an operating device, a standby device is enabled and the device in alarm is either disabled or left operating as configured.
The controllers can also balance usage of devices by rotating devices through Operating and Standby modes according to a user-defined schedule. This helps keep redundant equipment operating efficiently and only when needed. The controller can perform routine testing of standby devices and alert personnel if a standby device fails an operating test and requires attention.
Another capability of the controllers is monitoring the status of connected devices and keeping personnel apprised through local alarming. The controllers can interface with anything that closes an electrical contact. To improve process efficiency and troubleshooting, the controller tracks data in two types of logs: alarm and event. The controllers have a local LCD interface and an RS232 interface.
When an alarm condition arises, the Controller displays alarm information, sounds an audible alarm, changes the state of the common alarm relay and turns connected devices on or off according to user configuration.
